
	Gorenson CSA Barn Dresden, Maine This new barn replaced the landmark Goranson potato barn on Dresden Neck destroyed by fire. There was a strong desire to respect the form of the original barn but a need to reorganize the barn to accommodate new uses. The steel framed bents with moment connections is a reinterpretation of the traditional New England barn. frame. The large south facing wall is covered in polycarbonite sheets on an aluminum frame and is used as a greenhouse. The lower levels are exposed concrete walls and used for root storage. The extended north facing gamble roof is sheathed in metal and protects against the prevailing winter winds.
